AUTHOR DHONIELLE CLAYTON PRESENTS: BE A BEACON OF TRUTH FOR YOUNG READERS Dhonielle Clayton, COO of We Need Diverse Books, former school librarian, and author will speak about: reflecting reality in your school/ classroom library collections. She will also discuss responsible collection development. The talk will include a roadmap for how gatekeepers can understand the current climate of diversity and inclusive representation in the publishing industry and how it affects how you serve your students. Also, tips to diversify your collection, how to understand the publishing industry’s growing pains, including cancel culture and how to ensure your library reflects the world. The presentation will last 50 minutes followed by a question and answer period.
